About Dr Lizz Lewis
I am a dual qualified HCPC-registered Counselling Psychologist and UKCP-accredited Clinical Psychotherapist.
This service is for women experiencing anxiety, overwhelm or burnout alongside significant life transitions. This may include the psychological impact of motherhood, fertility treatment or baby loss; identity shifts related to career, caregiving or perimenopause; navigating neurodivergence in themselves or their children; and the effects of trauma, past or present. Many clients are high-achieving professionals or entrepreneurs who appear to be coping externally while feeling depleted, anxious or disconnected internally.
I offer weekly, depth-oriented online therapy for high-achieving women balancing complex responsibilities and a changing sense of self. Therapy follows the rhythm of the school year, with defined entry points in Autumn, Winter and Spring.

Therapeutic Process
Therapy follows the rhythm of the school year, running from September to mid-July (39 weeks). Work is agreed term-by-term, with a minimum commitment of one term (12 weeks). Many women choose to continue across the full school year, allowing time for depth, integration and meaningful change.
I offer three entry points across the school year: Autumn start (September), Winter start (January), Spring start (after Easter). Outside of these, I occasionally offer later starts where this is clinically appropriate and space allows. This is discussed during an initial consultation.
Assessment & formulation
Building understanding, safety and clarity about Initial sessions focus on building understanding, safety, and clarity regarding the client’s presenting difficulties, life context, and relational patterns. Evidence-informed assessment tools (such as GAD-7 for anxiety, PHQ-9 for mood, or other validated measures) are used to inform a collaborative formulation that guides therapy goals and the overall approach.
Recognition & Regulation
Clients develop awareness of how neurobiology, life experiences, stress, and relational dynamics interact with their emotional and cognitive patterns. Skills and strategies are introduced to support emotional regulation and self-soothing, tailored to each client’s profile and needs.
Depth Work & Integration
Therapy explores and processes trauma, life transitions, and identity changes. Work focuses on strengthening resilience, fostering self-compassion, and supporting the client’s capacity to navigate complex responsibilities and relationships. Sessions are delivered in a contained and ethically safe framework, with ongoing clinical supervision and adherence to HCPC and UKCP standards.
Consolidation & Review
Progress is reviewed, learning is integrated, and clients are prepared for the summer pause or continuation into the next cycle. Risk is continuously monitored throughout therapy, with clear boundaries, contingency planning, and referral pathways in place to ensure client safety.
